Psalm 136:1 (NLT)
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!
His faithful love endures forever.
Psalm 136 tells the reader many times to give thanks. You and I can give thanks using the same examples but we don't have the same personal connection to the events that the Israelite's did. However, each verse is punctuated with a PERSONAL reminder of why WE should give thanks.
Challenge:
Take the time this week to duplicate this chapter using examples of victories and blessings God has given to you personally. Finish each one with a reminder of God's love to you individually

14) Give thanks to the Lord for LOSS - that I might never cling too tightly to things that have power to become idols.

15) Give thanks to the Lord for the "HOLES" in my life, so that I can see (and fill) the holes in the lives others.

16) Give thanks to the Lord for F.O.C.U.S - that I might learn to trust Him when he appears to lead me in the wrong direction.

17) Give thanks to the Lord for introducing me to GIANTS- that I might learn to be thankful in difficult circumstances.

18) Give thanks to the Lord for holding up the mirror of ACCOUNTABILITY- that I might discover transparency and vulnerability.

19) Give thanks to the Lord for DEBT - that I might know the sweet release of freedom.

20) Give thanks to the Lord for revealing the purpose of TABLE LEGS - that I might know the foundation of my relationship with Him.
